Our Top 3 Dog Treat Recipes

Making homemade dog treats is a super easy craft that is fun for the whole family - especially your fur baby! Making treats at home also allows you to control exactly what you are feeding your dog to meet their nutritional needs and any dietary restrictions.

For less mess and frustration, we recommend pressing the raw dough into silicone molds and baking the treats right in the molds. This helps the biscuits keep their shape while they bake and is much cleaner and quicker than the traditional process of flouring your counter, rolling out dough, and stamping out individual biscuits.

Silicone is a durable, non-stick, food-grade material that is oven and dishwasher safe up to 450F. May & Lou even lets you customize molds to make treats with your pup’s name!

Here are some easy dog treat recipes that work great with May & Lou custom dog treat molds:

Simple Peanut Butter Biscuit

Yield: 16 standard or 2 jumbo treats

Ingredients:

  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup peanut butter (xylitol free)
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 cup flour

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F
  2. Mix ingredients until well incorporated. If necessary, add a bit of water or flour so the dough is soft and pliable but not sticky.
  3. Break off pieces of dough and pack firmly into the silicone molds. This is important for capturing detail and making sure your dog’s name is legible.
  4. Place filled molds on a baking sheet and slide into the oven. Bake for 20 minutes or until biscuits are hard and hold their shape.
  5. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow molds and biscuits to cool slightly.
  6. Carefully remove the biscuits from their molds and place back on the baking sheet.
Return biscuits to the oven and bake for another 10 minutes or until dry and crunchy.
  7. Cool before serving, and send us photos!
